The Plywood Shack from 1949

We wanted one last series of images showing the plywood shack that had been installed here in 1949.

All windows and both doors were opened on August 9, 2013 for this final “special occasion” before demolition.

Bushes in the foreground are miniature roses Dixie’s mother Edna planted years ago. She was told they would never grow.

Dixie’s dad Hugh added this back room for a refrigerator and for storage space.

The next sixteen images—including this one—show salesman Andrew (left) and architect Matt working with Dixie to establish
the position of our new Blu house. This was the first visit to the property for both men. They were impressed with the view.

The green arrow points to one of several spots of paint sprayed onto the ground at each corner of the new house.

Andrew holds the can of spray paint that was used to mark the ground.

Sadly our fence was cut and posts were pulled up out of the ground. Dixie and I made temporary repairs with yellow nylon rope.
